I interviewed Chat GPT on AI, ethics, and morality.

For years, I’ve followed the advancement of artificial intelligence with interest, not as a data scientist, but as a thinker. Science is done first in the mind before it can be done in the lab, you know. This article is the first in a series I will be writing on AI and the morality of AI.
“The morality of AI?” you ask? “I would have assumed AI to be amoral.”
Exactly.
So what does it mean for society when the machines we are building are fundamentally detached from moral, ethical, and Constitutional checks? It turns out that the AI I interviewed had some good answers, but not good enough. As you’ll see, I was able to question Chat GPT into a corner on the common claim that morals are merely social constructions. No one truly believes that. They only pretend to.
